RV Basics is conveniently scheduled right before each FMCA International Convention & RV Expo. RV Basics focuses on key preparation, operation and maintenance practices essential for trouble-free travel, in a relaxed setting with other RVers.
- You’ll take away advice you can trust on questions such as . . . What repairs can I do myself and what problems should I leave to a service professional? How can I avoid grey water tank problems? Who do I need to troubleshoot electrical system issues? When does it make sense to repair rather than replace?

RV Basics Advanced
It’s finally here!
RV Basics Advanced picks up where the original RV Basics class leaves off. The Advanced program will include additional instructors for “up-close-and-personal” hands-on experience. While the RV Basics class provides general knowledge covering many aspects of RVing, the Advanced curriculum is focused on what RV owners can do to get back on the road when the unexpected occurs. Instruction includes lectures and labs, so be prepared to get your hands dirty.
Sessions will include:
- Electrical testing and multimeters
- Slideout systems, components, and troubleshooting
- Major appliance troubleshooting
- Leveling systems
- Tools and hardware
- General maintenance
Attendance Is Limited To RV Basics Graduates
RV Basics Advanced will be conducted Sunday afternoon, Monday, and Tuesday morning following the Perry convention. Students who were attending the convention will be required to move to a different parking spot on Sunday morning prior to the class.

RV Basics Advanced Attendees Receive
Two days of expert instruction that will provide students with the knowledge to diagnose and troubleshoot common to complex RV issues. With small class sizes and multiple instructors, students will be challenged throughout the course to ask questions and participate in the hands-on demonstrations.
