Discovery Place
Discovery Place is a science and technology center with more than 300 exhibits.

Charlotte, N.C.'s culturally-enriched tapestry is a distinction that prompts repeat visits to the city. Arts, science and historical attractions offer limitless possibilities for visitors.

Here is just a sample ...

The Mint Museum of Art, North Carolina’s first art museum, showcases a noted collection of American fine and decorative arts. The museum makes its home in the location that once served as the first branch of the U.S. Mint, coining $5 million in gold from 1836 to the outbreak of the Civil War.

The Mint Museum of Craft + Design celebrates artists who fabricate original objects, providing a glimpse into the ever-evolving field of international studio craft and design. Permanent collections include works in ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metalworks and wood.

Levine Museum of the New South is an interactive history museum that provides one of the most comprehensive interpretations of post-Civil War southern society. The museum focuses on the men, women, and children — black and white, rich and poor — who have shaped the south.

The centerpiece of the Levine Museum is the award-winning exhibition, “Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers: Charlotte and the Carolina Piedmont in the New South.“ Covering 8,000 square feet, the exhibit features Charlotte and its 13 surrounding counties as a case study to illustrate the profound changes in the south since the Civil War.
