When FMCA members Mona and Dan Coyle of Redmond, Washington, go motorhoming, they always factor an extra 210 pounds into the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating. That’s the cumulative weight of their dogs, April, Aries and Angel. “I can’t imagine traveling without them, because they are our kids, our family,” Mona said. “And if the family goes, everybody goes.”

My dog, Denali , a malamute (Alaskan sled dog), and I became Pet Partners in spring 2002 through the Pet Visitation Program at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. This program trains animals and their handlers for visits to hospitals, children's homes, convalescent homes and other facilities.
