Thor Motor Coach has introduced the 2011 Daybreak 34SS Type A motorhome, which features a fully functional exterior kitchen as an option on select models.
The kitchen is situated on the camp-side of the coach. It includes a 15,000-btu easy-clean stainless-steel LP-gas grill, a 19-inch widescreen HD TV, and a 4.6-cubic-foot mini fridge.
And integrated single-bowl sink drains into the gray-water holding tank, like the interior sinks.
“We’ve seen an explosion of outside kitchens on towable products, but nothing from motorhome manufacturers," said Mike Peterson, product manager for the Daybreak. "This new upscale exterior kitchen design fits our motorhome demographic and is sure to be a home run.”
Thor showcased the exterior kitchen floor plan in February at the 45 annual Timonium RV show in Maryland. Bob Wilson, sales manager at Leo’s Vacation Center, was the first person to see the new kitchen when it arrived.
“I was blown away with the new kitchen design," Wilson said. "Many of the trailers we carry have a kitchen outside, but to have it in a motorhome really blew me away ...."
To meet storage needs above the outside kitcehn, the Daybreak 34SS comes standard with an oversize camp-side exterior compartment. The compartment can be customized with optional attachments such as hooks and bins.
The Daybreak has a gas-powered engine and comes in lengths of 28 feet 11 inches to 36 feet 5 inches. Single-, double- and triple-slideout floor plans are available. The outside kitchen is optional on certain models.
