Sally and James Mc HaffieJames and Sally
Mc Haffie

Tiffin, Ohio

FMCA membership number:  F167162. We joined FMCA in 1993.

FMCA chapter membership: National RV Great Lakers

Our current motorhome is:  a 1997 National RV Dolphin

Other motorhomes that we have owned:
A 24-foot 1990 Allegro diesel-powered coach and a 36-foot 1993 Allegro gas-powered coach

Occupations: James: retired tool and dye inspector. Sally: retired floor inspector.

We decided to buy a motorhome because:  We wanted to travel.

The best thing about motorhoming is:
The people you meet and make friends with

When we’re not motorhoming, we’re:
Taking care of our property. We travel approximately 10 months per year.

Our favorite motorhoming destination:  We go to Florida ever year.

Our all-time favorite motorhome trip was:  Alaska. We also have great memories of trips to Branson, Mo.

Our worst motorhoming experience was:
When we hit a retread that had fallen from a semi trailer and it dented our right front hubcap and knocked our Banks power system off completely. It also dented our right rear hubcap, and either the retread or the dislodged Banks system damaged our towed car on the grille and shredded both right tires on the car.

Our dream trip would be:  Taking a circle tour of each Great Lake

The best thing about our motorhome is:
We are able to go anywhere at anytime we want to.

The best alteration or addition that we’ve made to our motorhome is:
Our Gale Banks system. And, our electrical system has a special safety feature: If we have our air conditioner turned on and want to use the microwave oven but are using too much power, the air conditioning will turn off until the Microwave shuts off.

Something about motorhoming that we know now but didn’t know when we started is:
How many friends you make and all the fun you can have and the sites you see around every corner.

If we could change one thing about our motorhome, it would be:
Put it on a Workhorse frame.

Our favorite thing about FMCA is:
It offers so many benefits and friends.

If we could appear as contestants on any TV game show, we'd choose:
The Price is Right

A motorhome tip we'd like to share with other motorhomers is:
Have good road service and good insurance.

Our hobbies are:
James: camping, traveling, walking, bike riding. Sally: curves, cards, bingo, dominoes.

Our favorite way to exercise is:  Walking and riding bikes

Our favorite movie is:  12 O'Clock High (1949), Pretty Woman (1990)

Favorite book:  The Bible

Favorite restaurant:  Cracker Barrel

Favorite singer/song:
"There's a Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere"

Favorite store:
Bealls department stores and Dillard's

Favorite campground:
Poncho's Pond in Ludington, Mich.

When motorhomers visit our state or hometown, they should be sure to see:
The United States Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio; Cedar Point amusement park; Put-in-Bay.

Items that are always in our motorhome refrigerator while we’re traveling are:  Pop and ice cream

Our advice to new motorhomers is:
Join FMCA and chapters. Make friends, go to rallies and have fun.

Behind our motorhome, we tow:
A 2002 Mercury Sable, four wheels down using a tow bar

Our favorite activity to do inside the motorhome is:  Play games.

Pets we've traveled with are:
One dog, a Boston terrier
