We joined FMCA in 1991.
FMCA chapters we belong to:
Bits & Bytes, Southwind Club of Florida, Freightliner Chassis Owners
Club
Our current motorhome:
A 2001 42-foot Tiffin Zephyr with plenty of room
Three words that best describe our
current motorhome:
Elegant, comfortable, roomy
Other motorhomes we have owned:
A 1972-'73 24-foot Explorer
A 1988 34-foot Fleetwood Southwind
A 1995 34-foot Fleetwood Southwind
A 1998 34-foot Tiffin Allegro Bus
We decided to buy a motorhome
because:
It looked like a great way to travel.
Current or former occupation:
I (Billy) am a pharmacist.
The best thing about motorhoming is:
We can travel almost anywhere at our own pace.
We travel in the motorhome
approximately:
Four months per year. When we're not motorhoming we're enjoying our
home on a golf course in Florida.
Our all-time favorite motorhome trip was:
Nova Scotia. Other favorite destinations of ours are Maine and the
Oregon coast.
Our "dream" motorhome trip would be:
To Alaska on great highways
Our worst motorhoming experience was:
Owning a well-known manufacturer's 1995 34-foot wide-body model. It
was the motorhome from hell.
If we could change one thing about
our motorhome, it would be:
Add more legroom in the driver's area
Something about motorhoming that we
know now but didn’t know when we started is:
Just about everything
When driving the motorhome, the most
important thing to remember is:
Be constantly alert (aware).
Our favorite thing about FMCA is:
Our chapter friends
"Fantasy" guest we'd like to invite
to dinner in our motorhome:
George W. Bush. I could corner him with some hard questions.
Our hobbies:
Susan enjoys photography.
Favorite way to exercise is:
Playing golf, snow skiing
Favorite restaurant:
While on the road, Perkin's for brunch
Favorite store:
Wal-Mart
Favorite campground:
Outdoor Resorts in Oregon
When motorhomers visit our state or
hometown, they should be sure to see:
The beach, the St. John's River
Items that are always in our
motorhome refrigerator while traveling:
Wine, ice
Our advice to new motorhomers is:
Be friendly and courteous to others. Leave your campsite cleaner
than when you got there.
Behind our motorhome, we tow:
A 2001, four-wheel-drive Chevy Tracker two-door soft top with
automatic transmission. We use a Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar.
Our favorite activity to do inside
the motorhome is:
Cook, watch TV, entertain friends
Other comments:
We raised three kids during the 30 years we have owned motorhomes
and it is a great way to keep the family involved in fun activities
together!
