We decided to buy a motorhome
because…
We had two young boys and felt this was the best way to enjoy
traveling and showing the boys the U.S.A.
Former occupation: Petroleum
distributor for 50 years
Children, grandchildren:
Two sons, four grandsons, one great-granddaughter
The best thing about motorhoming
is…
Meeting so many new friends and being out close to nature. And
the local rallies.
When I’m not motorhoming, I’m…
Getting ready to go again.
My all-time favorite motorhome
trip was…
I had the pleasure of leading a caravan of 16 motorhomes from
Abilene, Texas, to Salem, Oregon. We traveled through the central
U.S.A. to Glacier National Park in northwest Montana, and then into
Canada. We turned west toward Vancouver, British Columbia, and
headed south through Washington and on to Salem.
My favorite motorhoming
destination: Smoky Mountains
One of my fondest motorhoming
memories is…
Our first Thanksgiving when we first started motorhoming, and the
boys were small. They suggested that we go somewhere and cook
Thanksgiving dinner in the motorhome. We drove about 20 miles to a
roadside park and cooked and ate dinner there.
My worst motorhoming experience
was…
A motor went bad in London, Kentucky. It took two months to get it
repaired.
The best thing about my motorhome
is…
The quality and the ease with which it performs on all kinds of
roads.
Something about motorhoming that I
know now but that I didn’t know when I started is…
How much fun it is.
If I could change one thing about
my motorhome, it would be…
Nothing. It is very nice just the way Tiffin made it.
My favorite things about FMCA are…
The international conventions and FMC magazine.
My hobbies/interests are…
Reading, antiques, sports.
My favorite movie is…
Joel McCrea in Four Faces West (1948 Western).
My advice to new motorhomers is…
Just relax and enjoy the beautiful country. And remember, things are
not perfect, including your new motorhome.
