Members of this chapter enjoy one another's company while learning how to care for their motorhomes' diesel engines.

The word "CAT" in CAT RV Club refers to Caterpillar brand diesel motorhome engines. The chapter was started in 2004 by Don Tallman, L1956, and a group of FMCAers who owned Caterpillar-powered coaches, with the assistance of Caterpillar Inc. Today we have more than 1,300 member families.
The purpose of the CAT RV Club is to exchange information about RVing and Cat engines, provide opportunities for fun and fellowship, support FMCA activities such as rallies and FMCA conventions, help promote Caterpillar products, and help our fellow RVers.
Overall, a major benefit of belonging to the chapter is having access to resources that help owners maintain their investments. Plus, we have a lot of fun along the way.
We hold two rallies each year, typically two weeks prior to an FMCA convention. We are normally limited to approximately 100 coaches at the pre-rallies, because of the size of the facilities. The "Explore Charleston" pre-Perry rally will be held March 2 through 6, 2009, at Exchange Park in Ladson, South Carolina (near Charleston), and will include full hookups, a golf outing, two maintenance seminars, radiator testing, and much more. All of our rallies have Caterpillar technicians on site. The rally prior to FMCA's summer convention in Bowling Green, Ohio, will be held at Sunset Lakes Resort in Joslin, Illinois, July 6 through 10, 2009.
We've had some great get-togethers so far. Last year we toured four Caterpillar plants in Peoria, Illinois. That was the largest club rally yet, with 248 attendees.
The club Web site, www.catrvclub.org, is a great source of information about membership, rally and safety information, newsletters, Cat RV center locations, dealer discounts, and links for technical information. Members of the club also participate in the CAT RV Club discussion forum at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/catrvclub.
We look forward to Caterpillar and its authorized dealer network continuing to provide superior product support and service for all Cat RV engines. The CAT RV club will continue to be a strong link between RV owners and Caterpillar Inc. In 2009 chapter members receive 10 percent off all genuine Cat parts for their RV at participating Cat dealers (2009 membership must be current to receive coupon).
Initial chapter dues are $40, and $15 per year thereafter. To learn more about the chapter, its upcoming activities, or membership, contact FMCA's Chapter Services Department at (800) 543-3622; e-mail
