These FMCA members rally in the region around Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The Carolina Pelicans chapter was chartered in 2004, and we currently have 37 member families. We are actively seeking more folks of all ages to join us. Chapter members typically come from North Carolina and South Carolina, within 150 miles of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The best part about our chapter is its members. We hold four rallies each year, usually in the months of April, June, October, and December. Our rally fees are $12, which does not include the camping fee. Festivities begin on Thursday and conclude on Sunday. Thursday evening dinner is usually on your own. Friday mornings will find some members on the golf course, while others take in local attractions or go shopping. We generally visit a local restaurant for Friday dinner, and then return to the RV park for games and fellowship in the campground meeting facility. We kick Saturday off with coffee and doughnuts, followed by our business meeting. There are usually no scheduled activities on Saturday afternoon, but you're likely to find a group of us visiting the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier (if we are near Mount Pleasant, South Carolina); skeet shooting; or discussing the favorite topic of the day. Many times fellow members provide information to help solve a particular mechanical problem that someone has encountered.
Saturday evenings we have potluck dinners, followed again by chats around a bonfire. And at each rally we collect food donations. The rally master gets to choose the local food bank recipient.
We help out at the Eastern Area Rally each year, and at this writing, planned to attend the rally in York, Pennsylvania, October 9-13, 2013. This area rally is one of the highlights of our year, since we volunteer together and work and play alongside other chapters from the area. Our chapter is the first group of folks that you meet at the event. We are the hosts of the registration and information tables. We show our chapter pride with shirts, hats, and visors with our chapter pelican logo.
We also support the FMCA Family Reunion and Motorhome Showcase as volunteers when it's held in Perry, Georgia.
Next month, December 4 through 8, we will get together in beautiful Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, for our final rally of the season. We would love to have you join us. The reservation deadline is November 23.
Chapter dues are $12 per year with no initiation fee. Newsletters generally are published quarterly, and we have a blog at www.carolinapelicans.wordpress.com.
